BENE's principal objectives are:

• To be an authoritative source of information for the Irish public on nuclear power, demonstrating that it is a safe, secure, sustainable and economic means of supplying a significant portion of Ireland's electricity needs.
  
• To show the potential of nuclear power to contribute to the country's heating needs through the use of electrically-driven heat pumps, and ultimately to its transport needs through the use of hydrogen as a transport fuel.
